More than 200 riders signed up and The Big Scoot! documentary went along as they buzzzzzzzed from San Clemente, CA, over America’s back roads, to the finish line at Hilton Head, SC. (Spoiler alert: not all of them made it!)

The Big Scoot! - come along for the ride!

Behind

The Big Scoot!

Hi, my name is Corrie Vaus, and I’ve spent my life documenting inspiring stories, earning 16 Emmys and 9 Golden Mikes as a video journalist. My documentary work has aired on more than 90 PBS stations, and I currently shoot for a long list of clients.

I'm busy and happy - but I can't ignore a compelling, charming story. So I followed a bunch of scooters across America and am close to completing a documentary called, ‘The Big Scoot!’

It all started when my husband bought a Vespa. Then one day, he said he wanted to ride in Scooter Cannonball 2023. It's an endurance coast-to-coast scooter rally covering about 400 miles a day for more than a week. The thing is, scooters aren’t made for that. I grabbed my camera and documented the daunting journey from San Clemente, CA to Hilton Head, SC. The doc includes incredible rider GoPro and helmet-cam footage.

'The Big Scoot!’ is "in the can" with the edit done. Now comes post-production and hard costs such as music licensing, sound design, color processing, graphics, animation, and marketing.

Why support the project?
‘The Big Scoot!’ is a real-life, positive story. Scooter riders unite as they take on this monster challenge (Spoiler alert: not all of them make it to the finish.) The doc highlights America’s breathtaking backroads as riders face everything from scorching desert heat to rutted mountain passes on wheels the size of dinner plates.

I appreciate your support of any amount! Please share this with friends and family, and be sure to stay in touch for updates. Thanks for being a BIG part of 'The Big Scoot!'
